FAQ
The by laws do state in Article VII, Section 2 “ at the discretion of the executive board” and Article VII, Section 1 that “Money raised by OTGA through fundraising, grants, corporate sponsorships, or donations will be distributed between the following categories, unless the grant, sponsorship or donation specifies otherwise. 1 – Compulsory athletes, 2 – Optional athletes, 3 – Education, 4 – Administrative costs, 5 – Miscellaneous.” With this noted we do ask each month prior to the board meeting for input from membership. The board does its best to distribute the funds in a fair and equitable way among all the needs of the athletes. Again, we ALWAYS welcome your comments and concerns.
The board is always open to ideas and welcomes all members to become part of the committees to help support and further develop the organization. We encourage all members to completely review the minutes we provide each month on our website and voice questions or concerns at any time. We have an open meeting in the fall for fundraising support / brain storming and all members are invited to attend. You may contact us anytime thru our website.
If you do not have child on DPT, XCEL, Pre-Team or Hot Shots, you can still be part of OTGA. You can subscribe to be a member of our Scrip Program to help the team or a specific athlete of your choice. Additionally, other ways to participate in OTGA, you can make a donation anytime, or post a business listing on our website.
The team accounts are managed by the OT office staff. At any time you can request a copy of your account statements from the OT office staff to verify your Scrip rebates have been credited to your account. If you have family members participating in Scrip to help benefit your child the only way to know how much their rebates should be would be to contact your family members and ask them how much they should receive for each month. Your rebates amounts can also be found on the Scrip website under reports. If you need help with finding these reports please email us and we will help walk you thru the process.
OT Parent Hours are set by the business Ocean Tumblers Gymnastic School and are part of your requirement as a team member. Any additional questions about your OT Parent hours should be addressed with the office staff or Diane Berry. OTGA asks for your help from time to time to help fund-raise at meets or work an external event all to raise money to support the gymnasts at OT. These are not tracked by the parents that volunteer for OTGA. Without your support and time our fundraisers will not be successful and as a result OTGA will not be able to support the gymnasts in all the extras OTGA can do for them.
